    I will continue my evening trash walks past this month - as well as writing companies of products I use. Most if all, I will try to keep the heightened awareness from this month in the forefront of my mind in succeeding months and years.

    I am not a big user of social media. That said, I know that social media, in all its varied forms, are wide-reaching. A single, small idea can mushroom overnight into something big. By strategically saying things in certain places, the words or ideas catch on - just because one person shared them - which is then exponentially viewed.

    Wrote Proctor and Gamble about the plastic top in their squares of Puffs Plus tissues and the packaging for Bounty paper towel. Their sustainability information talks about their work related to their products and replacing trees. Hoping they will address packaging as well,

    I knew the numbers meant things, but hadn't taken enough time to learn the difference. It's important to be informed, since I recently learned how much tossing the wrong thing into the recycling bin can be really detrimental to the process.

    My biggest concern is the damage we've done to Earth is irreversible. Moving forward, we can learn from our mistakes and plan more sustainably, but that won't bring back extinct species and lessen the pain of wildlife dealing with pollution and habitat infringement right now.
