    Social media is great for sharing values with like-minded people. It is less useful for getting people of differing opinions on board with your values and practices. Still, sharing useful information with those who are interested is worthwhile.

    What are some of the cases you could make to an employer for why switching to durable dishes and utensils is actually in their best interest as well?

    Other then the obvious it saves money, it also reduces the amount of waste that ends up in landfills everyday. It allows durable dishes to be used to there full potential as well.

    How does hosting a watch party help you to get to know your guests, connect them to the cause you are focusing on, and build your community?

    It did help connect then to the problem, My MIL likes to buy things and uses alot of plastics so I think the watching a documentary really helped her reflect on some things. Hopefully she'll try to reduce her usage of plastic waste.

    It’s HOT in Oklahoma this week and we have a new roof put on - dang, those roofers are rock stars! I bought a 2 gallon thermos with a spigot, filled it with orange sports drink and actually found paper cups, instead of those red plastic ones. Thanks for another year of plastic-reducing reminders and I’ll be here again next year!

    Single use plastics have become normalized in our society to the point that most people don't see them as a problem. What would you say to a friend, colleague, or family member who may not understand why these disposables are an issue?

    I think it depends on the person and what type of reasons are persuasive to them, but there is so much harm from plastics and so many benefits to alternatives that there are many different ways to approach those conversations.

    Had you ever considered the environmental impact of balloons before? How can you share this information with your friends and family to encourage them to avoid balloons, too?

    Yes, this is one of the reasons I prefer to limit paper mache projects for the animals. There are alternatives but you do have to make an effort!
