I am committed to refusing plastic straws whenever I eat at a restaurant!

Besides having access to fresh herbs and vegetables, what benefits will you see from growing your own garden?

The mosquito bites definitely aren't a benefit, but seeing the other bug life that thrives in the gardens is so wonderful!

Their personalities and mannerisms are so funny and different from one another, aloof, cuddly, shy!

Now I am more aware of how much plastic I use in a day!

In what ways is diapering your child with cloth diapers better for your child, better for you, and better for the environment?

Cutting back on the waste created from diapering collectively has a huge impact on the environment. An estimated 250 million disposable diapers are used worldwide every single day. A single-use disposable diaper takes up to 500 years to biodegrade and decompose.

I did not go completely cloth, but I did buy reusable swim diapers and they work great! And come in a million super cute patterns.

Does your child play differently with natural or repurposed toys than with other toys? If so, how?

We have been using paper mailers to make fun toys to read and play with! Hazel especially loved the Chewy mailer with the English Bulldog on it.

What is the benefit of using bar soaps or refilling your travel sized containers? Is this an action you think you will keep in your life?

I didn’t travel at all this month so I wasn’t able to complete this one! Regardless, bar soap is so much easier to travel with, especially if you already have a stock of soaps from previous hotel stays! =)

Have you noticed a shift in your community as more messaging about reusable straws becomes mainstream? Cite some examples.

I’ve noticed a lot of places doing away with the options of straws all together. For example in Disney they just provide cups now - no plastic lids or straws. I typically carry a collapsible silicone straw with me everywhere, since I don’t like sipping from cups (cold hurts my teeth).

I have seen so many places start to pay attention to these details, and it's nice to see. I definitely understand the cold part of drinks, and I'm glad to know that I'm not the only one carrying around straws in my bag!

Was this action easy or difficult to do? How did it change your travel experience?

This is so easy to do! My wife and I will make a homemade trail mix for long drives, not only is is cheaper than premade, but we can load it with things we want to eat. And now that we have a daughter, we can prevent a toddler meltdown by having her favorite snacks on the ready instead of potentially not finding a food she wants at our destination
