Dominique Hunt 7/25/2023 6:45 AMMy parents also hoarded plastic bags under the sink, they still do. Plastic bags for days! I started keeping my reusable bags in the back of the trunk and put them back after every grocery trip so I don't forget them.

REFLECTION QUESTIONKitchenHow difficult was this challenge for you? What made it easy or difficult?
Cori Wright 7/24/2023 5:07 AMBeing a tote hoarder, it was actually pretty easy! I grew up with parents/grandparents who would store their plastic bags in other plastic bags under the sink. I do that with tote bags. And it makes doing one trip from the car to the house much easier in a reusable bag. No one likes to make two trips! -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFamily + PetsWhat concerns you the most about how we are affecting the planet? Consider both local and global actions.
Cori Wright 7/08/2023 5:25 AMNot just the impact we are making on humans as a species, but also other animals in nature as well. Seeing the chain reaction from our actions affecting other species is devastating. Ice is melting, coral reefs are dying, plastic is invading all parts of the earth. I think we could do better with our actions by considering the consequences and how it will affect the world around us in the long run. Taking an extra step to recycle or cut out single use things would benefit the environment more than one would know.-
Debra Debra Lee Norton Wear 7/10/2023 7:05 PMExactly. We don’t inherit this planet from our ancestors. We save it for our children n I certainly don’t want to have to explain to our children that we caused the devastating impacts to the planet the wildlife or to us

REFLECTION QUESTIONFamily + PetsHow does buying used differ from buying new? How does each purchasing decision make you feel?
Cori Wright 7/08/2023 5:17 AMBuying used things for my pets reduces the amount of plastic packaging used for shipping from online companies and keeps things from going to the landfill. Just a little soap and water to make some things look like new! -
REFLECTION QUESTIONKitchenHave you noticed a shift in your community as more messaging about reusable straws becomes mainstream? Cite some examples.
Cori Wright 7/03/2023 5:09 AMI have noticed at some restaurants, the waiter/waitress will ask if you would like to skip using a straw to save the turtles. I have also noticed how creative some companies have become with their reusable straw varieties. I think having a variety of colors, shapes and designs on reusable straws will draw more people in and encourage people to use them! -
REFLECTION QUESTIONCommunityHow does the act of picking up litter connect you more to your community?
Cori Wright 7/03/2023 5:03 AMPicking up litter gives me this sense of satisfaction that I am doing something to help the environment which, in turn, helps me connect with my community. Maybe when I am picking up litter, it will inspire others to want to help.
