Alyssa Tyree 7/31/2023 4:38 PMThe last day! This was quite an adventure and I feel good about all the new habits I have created not just for myself, but for my girls as well. -
Alyssa Tyree 7/29/2023 6:05 PMOnly two days left?! Wow this month went by fast. I have to say that I already feel like some of the changes I started this month have become habit. Every Friday I bring my home scrap to the aquarium to put in our on site compost bins and my laundry habits have become significantly more green 🙂-

Alyssa Tyree 7/28/2023 7:13 AMToday, while setting our minnow trap, it was the lowest point of low tide and I was able to collect trash that was stuck in the mud at the education deck. One piece being a ball cap brim covered in barnacles 😳-

Alyssa Tyree 7/27/2023 5:31 AMYesterday, in a fluke accident, one of the cards for our insect station fell into the creek and we collaborated with some kayakers to collect it and get it out of the water. Love the community effort to keep the creek clean!-

Alyssa Tyree 7/24/2023 12:00 PMYesterday my family went to Busch Gardens and it was difficult, but not impossible, to avoid SUP. We ordered food that didn’t need utensils and brought our reusable cup so we didn’t have to buy bottles drinks. We also picked up as much trash as we could while walking around. -
Alyssa Tyree 7/20/2023 2:37 PMHappy National Moon day! Today Watershed Warriors were able to talk to guests about the importance of keeping our shorelines healthy and strong by reducing waste that ends up in our waterways, especially plastic! -
Alyssa Tyree 7/19/2023 7:15 PMIn an effort to not buy plastic bottles, I bought a different type of Dr. Pepper in can form. I saved money and didn’t resort to plastic, even though it is not my preferred flavor. Sacrifices!-

Mary Hanks 7/19/2023 9:47 PMI appreciate that you put the good of the planet over your personal desire. If the world had more people like you, we probably wouldn't be facing a climate crisis.

Alyssa Tyree 7/18/2023 6:54 AMI don't understand why a 12 pack of Dr. Pepper (cans) is now $9, but I will not buy the plastic bottles. It's gonna be a rough few days! -
Alyssa Tyree 7/17/2023 1:45 PMToday at the grocery store I desperately tried to find alternatives to packaged lettuce, but even the individual heads of lettuce were wrapped! Why???-
Allie Hobgood 7/19/2023 7:02 AMFarmers markets, whole foods, and some health food stores seem to be the best places to find unwrapped veggies for me. My Kroger also has unwrapped lettuce. It is so tough! -

Alyssa Tyree 7/16/2023 12:05 PMToday the weather kept us from our Sunday walk to the park, which typically results in a full grocery bag of trash collecting. Instead we went out to lunch and skipped the straws because I can just drink directly from the cup 🤷🏻♀️
