  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Bathroom
What is the benefit of using bar soaps or refilling your travel sized containers? Is this an action you think you will keep in your life?

The use of re-filling travel sized containers (shampoo, body wash, etc) is easy to do and prevents having to buy expensive travel size (one use) containers. My wife and I have been doing this since we were married.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Kitchen
Have you noticed a shift in your community as more messaging about reusable straws becomes mainstream? Cite some examples.

    Peter Stein 7/30/2023 1:27 PM
I have noticed more an more restaurants provide only reusable straws with those typically only being provided upon request.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Bathroom
What are the benefits of switching to bamboo toothbrushes? How would you implore others in your community to make this switch as well?

The are more friendly to the environment (smaller carbon footprint).
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Kitchen
Using the links provided, investigate the bottling practices of water corporations. There have been many cases where the water rights of the local people have been violated or even completely disregarded when a corporation decides to bottle water from a particular water source. How can you advocate for those who have been harmed by this bottling process?

    Peter Stein 7/30/2023 1:22 PM
Don't purchase bottled water. Advocate for investment in public water infrastructure.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Kitchen
Since the restrictions that COVID-19 has required of our society, trying to use your own cup might present new barriers, as well as new opportunities for creative problem solving. How were you able to achieve success on this action? How can you make it a long-term habit?

It has been going well. Learning a bunch of stuff.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Community
What have you learned about what is accepted by local haulers for recycling, what you can drop off or ship to certain places, and what is not recyclable in your area? What is the most difficult part of recycling for you?

    Peter Stein's avatar
    Peter Stein 7/28/2023 11:46 AM
The challenge for recycling can be taking the extra step to seek out the recycling bin rather than deferring to the closest waste basket.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Kitchen
How difficult was this challenge for you? What made it easy or difficult?

    Peter Stein's avatar
    Peter Stein 7/20/2023 8:57 PM
If you are not buying many items it is easy to just carry them out in your hands. Just a matter of remembering to put the re-usable bags in my car when doing a larger shopping trip.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Kitchen
Why do you chew gum? What habits could replace and meet your reasons for chewing gum?

    Peter Stein's avatar
    Peter Stein 7/20/2023 8:54 PM
I think most times it can just be something to break monotony. If for fresh breath, pop a mint.
