Sally's actions
Kitchen
Go Strawless
I will keep 6 plastic straw(s) out of the landfill per day by refusing straws or using my own reusable straw.
Bathroom
Travel Toiletries
If traveling, I will reuse my old travel tubes to refill with my soaps or only bring bar soaps with me.
Kitchen
Swap the Snacks
I will swap out 5 prepackaged snacks a day for fresh fruits or veggies.
Kitchen
Glass Bottle Baby
I will replace 10 plastic bottles with glass or stainless steel alternatives.
Kitchen
Choose Reusable Food Storage
I will only use reusable containers instead of single-use plastic storage items (such as plastic wrap, single-use sandwich bags).
Kitchen
Plant a Garden
I will plant an herb or vegetable garden using as little plastic as possible and to save from the plastic used buying herbs and veggies.
Kitchen
Clean Plate Club
When I need to replace my dish soap, I will switch to a bar or refillable option.
Bedroom
Ditch Dryer Sheets
I will use wool dryer balls or another plastic-free alternative to dryer sheets to keep my clothes static-free.
Bathroom
Sustainable Suds
I will replace my soaps, shampoos, conditioners, and lotions with sustainable, unpackaged, or refillable options.
Bathroom
Homemade or Refillable Cleaners
I will make my own cleaning products or choose plastic-free, refillable options.
Bathroom
Say No to "Flushable Wipes"
Wipes don't break down in sewer systems, but combine with fat to create massive clogs. I will find alternatives to using disposable wipes.
Kitchen
Use a Reusable Mug
If possible, I will avoid sending 10 disposable cup(s) to the landfill per day by using a reusable mug or bringing my own travel cup.
Kitchen
Fill a Water Bottle
I will use a reusable bottle and stop purchasing bottled water, saving 10 disposable plastic bottle(s) a day.

Sally Royse 7/23/2023 5:40 AMOur granddaughters in town like to go home with a little bag of pretzels each time they visit. For a long time, I have been reusing the bags to save on plastic. I recently purchased small, zippered cloth bags called Bumpkins that can be washed in the dishwasher. -
Sally Royse 7/23/2023 5:34 AMWe had a party at our house. I was going to use compostable plastic cups but chose aluminum completely recyclable cups made by Ball and sold at Target. That saved 60 cups from the landfill. I noticed a a recent trip to the zoo that these type of cups are being used at the Columbus Zoo, too. They are only for cold drinks.
