Allegra Ridgway 7/06/2023 8:13 AMMaking a grocery list for my trips has helped me not only spend less money but also only purchase the foods my family needs for the week so we don't have extra. We also have started buying some of our nonperishable items in bulk to save money and lower our plastic counts. -
Allegra Ridgway 7/05/2023 11:11 AMI may have brought a snack to work wrapped in plastic (silly string cheese!) but I made sure that it went into plastic recycling instead of the trash! -
Allegra Ridgway 7/03/2023 5:57 AMBought my babies reusable swim diapers to start our summer off with less plastics. They got to wear them for the first time this weekend and we loved them! -
Allegra Ridgway 7/02/2023 4:57 PMBrought my reusable cup to the 4th of July parties this weekend! -
Allegra Ridgway 7/01/2023 1:50 PMCan’t wait to start my plastic free July! -
Allegra Ridgway 6/28/2023 11:50 AMDo we have a local plastic free grocery supply store? A lot of the plastics entering my house comes from my groceries.-
Allie Hobgood 6/30/2023 6:42 AMGreat question Allegra!
Currently in our area, there is no great one stop shop for package or plastic free groceries. Overall, snacks are pretty hard to find without plastic, but veggies, fruit, and dried bulk items can be pieced together from different places.
Organic grocery stores are usually a good place to start. Heritage Natural Market is the only one out at the beach I have personally been to. They have a pretty good bulk section.
