As July winds down, I would like to thank everyone for their continued commitment and your efforts to make a positive impact on the world. There's still one last day to be a part of something big and meaningful this summer - by joining the Zoo's Save the Florida manatees and our waterways. After tomorrow you can continue the momentum by discovering new ways you can incorporate sustainability into your day-to-day life. From bamboo toothbrushes to homemade pet treats to supporting a nonprofit, you'll find a variety of ways to join the movement and create a healthier planet.
We're in the home stretch! #PlasticFreeEcochallenge 💦💙🐠🦦 In these last 3 days of the challenge, where can you dig in a little bit more to finish out the month strong? What actions will you carry with you beyond July?
End of the week check-in! 💚 Here are some Plastic Free Challenge reminders for you.
We can all choose to reduce our use of single-use plastic and make a difference for ourselves and our animals! The Plastic Free Ecochallenge website suggests actions you can take to lessen your plastic use in many aspects of your life that fall into preset categories, such as food, personal care, community, lifestyle, pets, and family. Or, you can even create an action that applies to you. You might start small by saying no to plastic straws or choose reusable bottles instead of one-time-use water bottles.
Participation in this month-long initiative is free and open to everyone, so please join tell your coworkers, family, and friends to join the ZooTampa team!
Happy Wednesday! Did you know? Since 1993, Ecochallenge.org has inspired, educated and activated individuals around community-based change. To date, Ecochallenge has engaged over 250,000 individuals and 4,500 organizations through solutions-focused programs.
By making small changes in our daily lives, we become agents of change. 🌍💚 Let's inspire others with our compassionate choices and spread awareness about the importance of preserving our oceans, wildlife, and the environment we call home. 🐢🌊
Join the challenge! ZooTampa has teamed up with zoos and aquariums across the country to host the Plastic Free July challenge. This is a month-long global challenge to reduce, refuse, and reuse single-use plastics.
