Alyssa Tyree 7/11/2023 2:32 PMI know restaurants that offer alternatives as well as several where straws are by request only. I love the shift!

If traveling, I will bring my own snacks and meals in my own containers to avoid the waste of take-out containers.

I will give my pets natural alternatives to toys like femur bones and antlers, canvas, natural rubber, hemp, rope or cotton toys. Or make our own toys from recycled items found in our home!

REFLECTION QUESTIONKitchenHave you noticed a shift in your community as more messaging about reusable straws becomes mainstream? Cite some examples.
Aubrey Moore 7/11/2023 9:41 AMThe shift to using reusable straws in my community is obvious as many local restaurants no longer offer plastic straws, and I see many reusable straw options shopping in-store and online. It is a positive change that I am happy to see. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFamily + PetsIn what ways is supplying your pet with all natural pet toys better for your pet, better for you, and better for the environment?
Aubrey Moore 7/10/2023 9:02 AMI made frozen dog treats for my two pups. By making my own treats I could know exactly what my dogs were eating and avoid giving them any harmful additives or preservatives that go into prepackaged ones. I also helped the environment by not needing to throw away packaging, and by not supporting companies that use harmful pesticides to produce their ingredients. -
Aubrey Moore 7/10/2023 8:54 AMAlthough I am a little late to the game, I am happy to be officially starting my 2023 ecochallenge today! I have helped recruit some of my family members and friends to join in too!
