We are more than halfway through. WE CAN DO THIS!!
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Bathroom
What are the economic and personal benefits of switching to bar soap/shampoo/conditioner or refillable bottle options?

Less waste, so in the long run save money.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Bathroom
What have you noticed about the economic and social impact of switching to steel razors? Was there ever really a need for disposable razors, or do you think it was just a way to sell more things?

    Michelle Kotsagrelos's avatar
    Michelle Kotsagrelos 7/10/2023 7:15 AM
Convenience. Using steel razors is how I started shaving, so it was easy to go back.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Bathroom
Take a moment to estimate how many disposable daily contacts you may have used over the years. What would be your impact now of switching to a contact brand with a longer lifespan?

    Michelle Kotsagrelos 7/05/2023 8:42 AM
Been doing that for years - longer lifespan contacts. And since I do not wear them that often, I prolong their life.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Community
How does the act of picking up litter connect you more to your community?

    Michelle Kotsagrelos's avatar
    Michelle Kotsagrelos 7/05/2023 8:41 AM
Makes it look clean and make it a nice place to live. I participate in a clean-up once or twice a year.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Kitchen
Since the restrictions that COVID-19 has required of our society, trying to use your own cup might present new barriers, as well as new opportunities for creative problem solving. How were you able to achieve success on this action? How can you make it a long-term habit?

I keep a reusable hot/cold drink container at work and in my car for drinks.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Kitchen
How can you be an advocate for using reusables instead of disposables for the rest of your community? Where are they currently dependent on disposable food packaging or eating utensils, and how can you convince them of the need for change?

When you order take-out, charge "pennies" for utensils. Home deliveries should never give plastic utensils. Unfortunately, if you eat in at a fast-food restaurant, you need quick and easy things. Someone should invent biodegradable utensils.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Kitchen
Have you noticed a shift in your community as more messaging about reusable straws becomes mainstream? Cite some examples.

Most restaurants I go to, don't give straws unless you ask for them. Unfortunately, those straws are plastic, not "paper."
