Eugene's actions
Bathroom
Homemade or Refillable Cleaners
I will make my own cleaning products or choose plastic-free, refillable options.
Bathroom
Sustainable Suds
I will replace my soaps, shampoos, conditioners, and lotions with sustainable, unpackaged, or refillable options.
Kitchen
Try a New Recipe
I will try new recipe(s) or food preparation method(s) each day, such as canning, pickling, making yogurt, or baking granola bars or bread.

I will switch to a plastic-free toothpaste — whether purchased or DIY'd.

Give Some Green Gratitude
I will give a shout-out on social media to a local company, coworker, friend or family member for their plastic free or green efforts.
Bathroom
Eco Deodorant
I will switch to a plastic-free deodorant — whether purchased or DIY'd.
Community
Share My Actions
I will make my environmental actions visible by sharing about them on my social media networks and the Plastic Free Ecochallenge participant feed.
Study
Buy Only What I Need
I will not buy anything except items required for health and safety.
Kitchen
Cook a Plastic Free Meal
I will prepare meals at home each day without using any items packaged in single-use plastic.
Bathroom
Travel Toiletries
If traveling, I will reuse my old travel tubes to refill with my soaps or only bring bar soaps with me.
Kitchen
Better Gum
I will give up gum or choose gum made from chicle or other plastic-free gum bases.

Natural Fibers
When available, I will purchase clothing and bedding made with natural fibers, such as cotton, linen, or wool, rather than synthetic fibers.

Eugene Huffman 7/28/2023 7:00 AMI concentrated this year on the bathroom -- toothpaste tablets, shaving bar, and eco-friendly deodorant in a cardboard tube. I still have shampoo to use up, but I'll replace that when it runs out. -
Eugene Huffman 7/16/2023 3:48 PMI looked for loose tea in Wegmans, but couldn't find any. Suggestions? -
Eugene Huffman 6/27/2023 10:06 AMMy main goal is to reduce the use of plastic knowing that less than 10% of plastics are actually recycled. I started last year and plan to continue the arduous task of reducing plastic use.-
Debra Debra Lee Norton Wear 6/28/2023 2:05 PMIt is an arduous task but it can be done especially if we are all working together sharing ideas and experiences
