REFLECTION QUESTIONKitchenBeyond reducing waste, there are many benefits to packing zero waste lunches (for kids or yourself!). What other benefits have you noticed from this practice?
Jennie Gilbert 7/14/2023 6:41 AMWe are always eating healthier when we go plastic-free with fresh fruit, veggies & homemade chips. A guilt-free lunch! -
REFLECTION QUESTIONCommunityHave you noticed a difference in how your community, friends, and family members use plastics since you've shared your own actions?
Jennie Gilbert 7/12/2023 5:16 AMI had the opportunity to speak with Spartanburg’s Neighborhood Advisory Committee about Plastic Free July and was thrilled that the 2 City employees present were utilizing their “Choose Tap” reusable water bottles. Overall, a little less than half the group had their reusables with them. Every little bit counts! -

REFLECTION QUESTIONKitchenWith the added mindfulness of reducing your packaging, what have you noticed about the amount and type of single use plastics used for packaging when you shop in the grocery store?
Jennie Gilbert 7/05/2023 5:05 PMI sometimes have to choose between buying organic produce wrapped in plastic versus non-organic plastic-free.... It is a strong reminder to utilize my local farmers' market for organic, plastic-free produce as often as I can.-
