  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Bedroom
Often, single-use and disposable products don't just create more trash - they also contain toxins that are bad for humans. What are some other single-use items that are harmful to humans?

    Maya Fors's avatar
    Maya Fors 7/31/2023 9:26 AM
Silica gel packets are harmful to humans if they eat them
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Bathroom
What are the benefits of switching to bamboo toothbrushes? How would you implore others in your community to make this switch as well?

    Maya Fors's avatar
    Maya Fors 7/28/2023 10:55 AM
Bamboo toothbrushes cut down on the amount of single use/temporary plastic in our lives.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Bedroom
How can you express your personality, creativity, and values in ways that don't require fast fashion or buying more clothes and accessories?

    Maya Fors's avatar
    Maya Fors 7/28/2023 10:53 AM
It's arguably more creative to use the clothes you already own and fun to make new outfit combinations.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Bathroom
What are the economic and personal benefits of switching to bar soap/shampoo/conditioner or refillable bottle options?

    Maya Fors's avatar
    Maya Fors 7/28/2023 10:52 AM
Refillable bottles can save money per unit. It also means less trips to the store.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Kitchen
How difficult was this challenge for you? What made it easy or difficult?

    Maya Fors's avatar
    Maya Fors 7/28/2023 6:04 AM
This challenge was not very difficult. The hardest part is remembering to bring reusable bags when I'm in a rush.

Agreed - I always realize I've forgotten them when I go to the check out
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Kitchen
How can you be an advocate for using reusables instead of disposables for the rest of your community? Where are they currently dependent on disposable food packaging or eating utensils, and how can you convince them of the need for change?

    Maya Fors's avatar
    Maya Fors 7/28/2023 6:02 AM
I can bring reusables with me. The community mostly uses disposable utensils with take-out food.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Kitchen
Beyond reducing waste, there are many benefits to packing zero waste lunches (for kids or yourself!). What other benefits have you noticed from this practice?

    Maya Fors's avatar
    Maya Fors 7/27/2023 11:53 AM
It encourages me to make my own food.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Kitchen
Since the restrictions that COVID-19 has required of our society, trying to use your own cup might present new barriers, as well as new opportunities for creative problem solving. How were you able to achieve success on this action? How can you make it a long-term habit?

    Maya Fors's avatar
    Maya Fors 7/27/2023 11:51 AM
I did not have any trouble using my own cup. I mostly only drink water and coffee so not a problem.
