REFLECTION QUESTIONBathroomWhat is the benefit of using bar soaps or refilling your travel sized containers? Is this an action you think you will keep in your life?
Kole Dullanty 7/31/2023 9:46 PMBy using bar soap and refillable containers we save plastics and unnecessary wrappings. By using the reusables we don’t buy more which creates more waste, etc. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONBathroomDo some research on the toxic side affects of aluminum deodorant. After reading the side effects, can you think of instances where you may have experienced the side effects from this form of deodorant?
Kole Dullanty 7/31/2023 9:42 PMI have not considering I hadn’t used regular deodorant before this. But it’s crazy to think how many chemicals and outside materials are in our daily products. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONKitchenHave you noticed a shift in your community as more messaging about reusable straws becomes mainstream? Cite some examples.
Kole Dullanty 7/29/2023 7:45 PMYes! There has been such a big push for straw-less consumption. Places now a days only give them if you ask and straws are more and more hard to get. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONKitchenHow can you be an advocate for using reusables instead of disposables for the rest of your community? Where are they currently dependent on disposable food packaging or eating utensils, and how can you convince them of the need for change?
Kole Dullanty 7/22/2023 4:43 AMWe always have our utensils. I think doing it and showing you can is a huge influence on others. Then by then seeing you use reusables they are more easily convinced to make the change. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONBathroomCurrently most of the packaging for toothpaste is plastic. How can you advocate for more alternatives through your purchasing power and influence in community?
Kole Dullanty 7/22/2023 4:38 AMIf you create your own toothpaste you can also use a glass jar or bottle… when you make your own the alternate endless! -
REFLECTION QUESTIONKitchenSince the restrictions that COVID-19 has required of our society, trying to use your own cup might present new barriers, as well as new opportunities for creative problem solving. How were you able to achieve success on this action? How can you make it a long-term habit?
Kole Dullanty 7/15/2023 7:06 PMMy family always carries our mugs and water bottles. It’s just second nature now. We fill up wherever we go and save cups and mugs daily. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONCommunityHow does the act of picking up litter connect you more to your community?
Kole Dullanty 7/15/2023 7:05 PMTaking care of your community by picking up trash connects you in a way than any other- it’s like caring for family. Your community is your family. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONKitchenHow does swapping out prepackaged snacks for fresh fruit or veggies benefit your family?
Kole Dullanty 7/15/2023 7:02 PMBy eating healthier we can be more healthy. Live longer.
The cool thing this summer is there are lunch programs and they are incorporating fruits and veggies with each meal.. perfect. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONCommunityHow does hosting a watch party help you to get to know your guests, connect them to the cause you are focusing on, and build your community?
Kole Dullanty 7/09/2023 10:32 PMWe hosted a watch party as a family and together watched movies on tv. It was fun and educational! Even Disney has a lot of environmental movies- excited to watch more. It was very interesting. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONCommunityWhat are the benefits of a sharing economy? How could a sharing economy change the dynamics you have with friends, family and/or neighbors?
Kole Dullanty 7/07/2023 10:44 PMWe have a big family and having a sharing economy with friends and families is awesome. Everyone benefits and together we share, save money and use all things that we have around the house/produce/grow- for example we share eggs from our chickens, etc.
