I did not know that you couldn’t recycle plastic “clam shell” produce containers in OKC. They have a number on them so I have been placing them in my recycle bin 😡. I can never find strawberries in the cardboard clam shells anymore. I found them one or twice but I guess nobody wants to use those? Bugger!

What! Can we not recycle them at the zoo? We always put them in the zoo's recycling and haven't been told otherwise in a waste audit!

Got my locally grown produce today from Cityside Farm (www.cityside.farm). Included in this weeks haul…kale, cabbage, Swiss chard, daikon radish, onion, carrot, tomatoes, peppers, green beans, radishes, beets…all for less than $30/week! Love my local farmers and the fresh produce.

Anyone else using Blueland products? They are not all palm oil free unfortunately but not plastic at all. I love the toilet cleaner and body wash products the best. The laundry tablets and cleaners are good too. It’s a great company to work with and they have great customer service!

Just learned that the clothing and textile industry is responsible for 2-8% of global greenhouse emissions and 9% of micro plastics in the ocean! Makes me rethink all the ads seen on Facebook for cheap t-shirts and other “fad” clothing. We need to consume less!! I also did not know that there is a UN Alliance for Sustainable Fashion.

Got my locally produced veggies today. I’m a member of the community supported agriculture (CSA) group through Cityside Farm (https://www.cityside.farm/). Today I got freshly picked green pepper, eggplant, green beans, onions, tomatoes, cabbage, kale and cucumber. Plus fresh laid eggs! All without plastic and with minimal carbon footprint. Check out their website, they do a farm stand almost every Saturday and have amazing sourdough bread and cinnamon rolls!
