REFLECTION QUESTIONBedroomHow can you express your personality, creativity, and values in ways that don't require fast fashion or buying more clothes and accessories?
Lillia Blasius 7/28/2023 9:56 AMI really try to not shop at places that practice fast fashion. When I do shop I try to invest in high quality pieces that will last me forever and I really try to avoid trends. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONBedroomOften, single-use and disposable products don't just create more trash - they also contain toxins that are bad for humans. What are some other single-use items that are harmful to humans?
Lillia Blasius 7/28/2023 9:55 AMThis was an easy switch to make! Plastic dryer sheets can get pricy when you have to keep buying them. I got wool balls at trader joes for $9 and they will last really long! -
REFLECTION QUESTIONKitchenDo an inventory of your kitchen to see how many single-use plastics you've used in the past. What are some resuable alternatives to these commonly used products? What would your impact be if you switched all the single-use products from your inventory to reusable?
Lillia Blasius 7/28/2023 9:53 AMThis is a huge challenge! Everything comes in plastic now. I have not successfully done a completely plastic free meal, but I have really reduced the amount of plastic that I consume. I always opt for fruits/veggies that are in plastic free packaging. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONKitchenHow can you be an advocate for using reusables instead of disposables for the rest of your community? Where are they currently dependent on disposable food packaging or eating utensils, and how can you convince them of the need for change?
Lillia Blasius 7/28/2023 9:52 AMI have a reusable utensil kit that comes with a fork, spoon, and knife in a protective case. I bring it on the go so if I grab food out I don't have to use plastic utensils. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONKitchenHave you noticed a shift in your community as more messaging about reusable straws becomes mainstream? Cite some examples.
Lillia Blasius 7/28/2023 9:51 AMI bought reusable straw kits that fit into my purse/bags and so I can always have a straw on the go! -
REFLECTION QUESTIONKitchenHow difficult was this challenge for you? What made it easy or difficult?
Lillia Blasius 7/28/2023 9:51 AMPlastic bags are everywhere! I always keep reusable bags in my car and try to remember to bring them in when I go into any store. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONBathroomWhat are the economic and personal benefits of switching to bar soap/shampoo/conditioner or refillable bottle options?
Lillia Blasius 7/28/2023 9:48 AMI replaced my hand soaps with bar soap that came in plastic free packaging! -
